October 2012: DNASU Plasmid Repository was voted Best Supplies for your Genetic Experiments in Phoenix New Times 2012! 

September 2012: Dr. LaBaer joined Dr. Lee Hartwell (Chief Scientists, Center for Sustainable Health at the Biodesign Institute) at the Tianjin International Joint Academy of Biotechnology and Medicine (TJAB) in Tianjin, China to initiate a project expanding the scope and effort of the VGPCPD to China. 

September 2012: Dr. Wade Van Horn, the newest faculty member in the VGPCPD was awarded a Science Foundation Arizona Early Career Bisgrove Scholar award.  This program was established to recruit top-tier, post-doctoral scientists and engineers in Arizona and this year honored 6 individuals from ASU, Northern Arizona University and University of Arizona.
